Emily Abell

Mrs. Emily Abell  has been married to her husband, Bradley, for 10 years. They have two children, Nora (4) and Elias (1). She enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading and traveling. Emily has a passion for teaching and learning. She leads by example and models her enthusiasm for learning to her students. She wants them to see the world as their oyster and give them the tools to make their learning journey count.

Mrs. Abell began her teaching career at Twin Oaks in 2011.  She has taught all subjects, but has been a fifth grade ELA teacher for the last 8 years. This year she will start a new adventure and become the fifth grade EIP teacher at TOES. When she thinks of education she is inspired by Ben Franklin who once said, “Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” Mrs. Abell has modeled this thought in her classroom empowering her students to lead their way to the future. Mrs. Abell has furthered her education and earned her specialist degree in 2019.  When asked about why she went into teaching Mrs. Abell replied, “Teaching is a love of mine. I knew at a very young age that I wanted to teach. My mother was a teacher and I was very lucky to have had amazing teachers pour their love, support, time, and knowledge into me as a student. It was inspiring and I hope to be that inspiration to my students. I make it a point to build a strong rapport, bring excitement, and have high expectations in my classroom. Seeing my students work through their challenges, and set and achieve their educational goals is what it is all about.”
